Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. is seeking an Outsourced Controller to manage a portfolio of client accounting, from setup through reporting. You will guide a team, deliver complex financial statements, and provide strategic advisory on cash flow and growth in a hybrid role with in-office collaboration in Indianapolis.

You will drive client onboarding, tailor cloud workflows, and coordinate with tax/wealth teams to ensure a seamless experience across clients and the firm.

Qualifications

• Experience as outsourced controller or virtual CFO, or senior CAS in public accounting.
• Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial statement analysis, management reporting, and month-end close.
• Advanced proficiency with cloud accounting tech stacks (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, etc.).
• Exceptional advisory skills with ability to explain financial concepts clearly to business owners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle outsourced accounting for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Provide strategic advisory on cash flow, budgeting, and growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic financial partner advising on cash flow, budgeting, internal controls, and growth
• Lead and review work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and deadlines

• Coordinate with internal tax and wealth management teams to deliver unified client experience

Key Requirements

• Proven outsourced controller/virtual CFO or senior CAS experience within a public accounting firm
• Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial statement analysis, management reporting, and month-end close
