Outside Service Technician

Purpose at Ashley:

The Outside Service Technician is primarily responsible for repairing case goods, leather, and upholstery furniture. You will perform minor furniture repairs on various types of product damage, including handling or damage that may occur in customers' homes. A customer-centric mindset is essential, as your service is direct to the customer, and our goal is to provide a world-class experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform repairs with minimal guidance on all product types.
2. Complete entry-level repairs, developing additional skills as required.
3. Perform minor surface repairs on case pieces and tables.
4. Refinish surfaces with solid paper/side refinishes.
5. Repair small corner damages requiring rebuilding.
6. Understand spray booth setup and operation.
7. Perform advanced replacement part repairs.
8. Maintain tools, parts, and hardware; keep the repair area clean.
9. Inspect damaged products and assess repairability to restore like-new conditions.
10. Collaborate with warehouse personnel on minor touch-ups during inspection.
11. Document and follow up on recurring product damages.
12. Assist other technicians as needed.
13. Report situations where repairs cannot be completed.
14. Assess damages to determine the most efficient repair methods.
15. Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials in the warehouse.

17. Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
18. Use all products safely and properly.

Compensation: This position pays an hourly rate of $20.00 - $24.00.

Profit sharing is available to eligible employees; this discretionary program depends on company profitability.
