Job summary

Radius Recycling is seeking an Outside Buyer to drive scrap metal purchases across a defined geographic area. This outside sales role requires building relationships with scrap metal dealers, demolition contractors, and manufacturers to maximize volume and margin.

You will negotiate pricing and long-term contracts, visit facilities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize sourcing strategy and ensure safe, compliant operations. Regional travel is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
• One to four years sales or non-procurement buying experience. Preference given to candidates with exposure or experience in the scrap metal industry.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop supplier relationships and negotiate prices and contracts.
• Visit facilities of current and potential suppliers in the defined area.
• Communicate daily with regional accounts manager and cross-functional teams.
• Manage bidding, pricing, and inventory coordination.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and weekly reports.
