This role blends business development, customer relationship management, pricing, market analysis, and purchasing. You'll work with suppliers, inspect incoming material, negotiate pricing, support purchasing decisions, and help drive profitable growth across your territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 0–2 years in sales, purchasing, business development in recycling or manufacturing.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze pricing and make sound business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.

Salary: $90,000 annually

Radius Recycling is seeking a Scrap Metal Buyer to help grow our supplier network while purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous metals for our Maine operations.

This role combines business development, customer relationship management, pricing, market analysis, and purchasing. You'll work with suppliers, inspect incoming material, negotiate pricing, support purchasing decisions, and help drive business growth throughout your territory.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
• 0-2 years of sales, purchasing, business development, recycling, industrial, logistics, manufacturing, or related experience
• Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills
• Strong negotiation and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to analyze pricing and make sound business decisions
• Comfortable communicating with customers by phone and in person
• Valid driver's license
• Combination of office and scrap yard environments
• Exposure to outdoor conditions, dirt, dust, and industrial operations
• Periodic travel to customer and Radius Recycling locations
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, inspect materials, and work both indoors and outdoors
