Essential Functions/Duties of the position include, but are not limited to

  1. The primary function involves maintaining and growing an existing customer base, identifying new prospects within the territory, developing relationships with decision-makers, and building a strong book of business through ongoing sales efforts, including cold calling and continuous engagement with customers about our wide array of products. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, manage expenses within budget, follow the EGW sales process, and utilize the company's CRM system. Schedule appointments to provide value, review needs, and identify new sales opportunities.
  2. Advance sales opportunities through pipeline activity with customers.
  3. Present products in a consultative manner.
  4. Utilize and manage all aspects of the CRM system within the territory, including Activities, Opportunities, Quotes, and Customer Contact management.
  5. Attend industry-related events, trade shows, and conferences, staying current with industry regulations and opportunities.
  6. Analyze markets, determine trends, and outline the competitive landscape for each product group within the territory.
  7. Prepare reports for marketing, sales, and operations management.
  8. Communicate effectively with support staff to exceed client expectations.
  9. If applicable, manage remote inventory and company vehicle within the territory.
  10. Confirm competitive pricing and discount levels, and determine delivery lead times.
  11. Assist customer service with quotes and product information requests requiring pricing guidance.
  12. Recommend product line improvements and additions based on customer feedback and market trends.
Preferably, YOU have:
  • 2 to 5 years of outside sales experience.
  • Experience working with natural gas distribution companies or contractors.
  • Experience with general contractors and/or municipalities.
