Job summary

Hood Distribution is seeking an ML Campbell Outside Sales Representative to grow existing accounts and develop new business in the Memphis area. You’ll sell ML Campbell Paints and Stain to cabinet, millwork, and construction professionals, and travel to call on customers.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in paint/stain sales, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a territory with a focus on meeting sales targets. A valid driver's license and vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 yrs in the paint and stain industry or related sales experience.
• Fluent in industry terminology and products.
• Ability to identify decision makers to drive sales.
• Strong planning and territory management skills.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and persuasive abilities.

Responsibilities

• Service existing accounts and establish new ones by planning daily visits.
• Present, promote and sell products to cabinet, millwork, and construction pros.
• Adjust presentations based on paint and stain trade factors.
• Focus on growth by analyzing customer volumes and opportunities.
• Submit orders using price lists and product literature.
• Maintain activity reports and territory analyses for management.
• Monitor competition and report market trends to leadership.
• Resolve customer issues with effective solutions and records.

Hood Distribution,established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty wood and composite products.We currently have twenty-three locations, providing distribution into the eastern US as well as the Caribbean markets.Our primary trading partners are custom manufacturers of high-end cabinetry / furniture, millwork and industrial trades, specialty retailers, and pro dealers.

ML Campbell Outside Sales Representative(s) are responsible for maintaining existing and establishing new customers in each territory, as well as selling ML Campbell Paints and Stain products to the cabinet and millwork industry and or the construction and architecture industry.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning andorganizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
• Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
• Adjust content of sales presentation by studying new paint and stain trade factors.
• Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of customers and creating presentations.
• Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
• Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
• Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
• Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
• Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
• Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 1-3 yrs. in the paint and stain industry or related sales experience.
• Fluent in the terms and vocabulary used in the paint and stain industry.
• Ability to work directly with customers and identify the decision maker to drive sales.
• Business acumen to understand priorities, think creatively and close sales.
• Good verbal communications and public speaking skills.
• Strong writing ability, analytical and persuasive skills, and ability to multi-task effectively.
• Ability to execute time-sensitive and critical task.
• Excellent planning, organization, and territory management skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own a vehicle.
• Must have a valid/or be able to obtain a US passport

Salary base range

$48,500 - $55,000 plus unlimited commission! (Total Target $80,000.00)
