Job summary

Burwell Material Handling is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to drive equipment sales and build long-term customer relationships across a defined territory. You’ll manage your accounts with autonomy, supported by a fast-moving team, and focus on practical solutions beyond selling forklifts.

You’ll develop relationships, identify opportunities, analyze customer needs, and negotiate financing options for new, used, and rental equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outside sales experience in material handling or equipment industry.
• Knowledge of lift trucks, aerial equipment, racking, dock, and door equipment.
• Self-motivated with a proven track record of prospecting and closing.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships, building a strong sales pipeline within the assigned territory.
• Implement strategic plans to identify new opportunities and increase overall sales and profitability.
• Conduct detailed customer needs analyses to create tailored proposals and solutions.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive products, and market conditions.
• Maintain working knowledge of used equipment values and support trade-in evaluations.
• Assist customers with financing options for new, used, and rental equipment.
• Attend training sessions and seminars to continuously improve sales effectiveness.
