Job summary

BrandSafway in Houston, TX is seeking a Commercial Outside Sales Representative. This full-time position focuses on prospecting bid opportunities and building relationships with contractors, developers, and government agencies to win work.

The role requires experience in scaffold and work access sales, cost estimating, and Salesforce in a construction setting, plus solid Excel skills and hands-on scaffold experience. This is a permanent, on-site role in Houston.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in scaffold and work access sales, including labor contracts.
• Prior experience cost estimating scaffold and work access projects.
• Prior Salesforce experience in construction context.
• Prior construction industry experience.
• Intermediate or better MS Excel skills.
• Direct hands-on experience as a scaffold builder or foreman.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of prospecting for bid opportunities in the sales territory.
• Develop relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, developers, mechanical contractors, manufacturing facilities, architects, and government agencies that produce opportunities to bid for and win work.
• Use Salesforce to identify opportunities to bid for upcoming work and document ongoing efforts to bid and win work; review leads from Construct Connect and tag them in Salesforce as appropriate.
• Communicate to customers how our products meet their needs and potential future needs.
• Visit job sites to gather information for price quotes.
• Assemble equipment, material lists, estimate man hours, and determine freight for delivery; create price quotes in SafQuote.
• Work with contracts to usher new contracts
• Work with project controls to ensure rapid and accurate billing and changes captured promptly
• Be on hand at job sites as new jobs begin to direct construction crews
• Work with prequalification team to get BrandSafway prequalified with new customers
• Assess bid opportunities for upsell of BrandSafway products
• Report activity weekly to regional and branch sales managers.
