The role requires 2+ years in process equipment sales to municipalities, and experience in water/wastewater is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the municipal water and wastewater industry is required.
• PE licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen relationships with municipalities, engineers, and contractors.
• Provide engineers and end users with technical product recommendations and follow‑up.
• Schedule customer meetings, coordinate product presentations and events, maintain contact.
• Attend training sessions and participate in industry associations and trade shows.
• Travel to manufacturers and company locations for training and development as needed.
• Travel within the assigned territory in the Eastern PA, Northern DE, and Southern NJ regions.

The Outside Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with municipalities, consulting engineers, and local general contractors within the municipal market to drive sales and provide solutions throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware, Southern New Jersey.

Success in this role requires strong time management, self-motivation, organization, conflict resolution, and follow-through skills. This is an outside sales position that involves regular interaction with consultants, wastewater treatment plant personnel, and contractors. Direct sales and plant-level activities require in-person consultation, product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving expertise.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and strengthen relationships with existing end users, contractors, and engineers while cultivating new business opportunities and long-term partnerships.
• Provide engineers and end users with professional product recommendations, technical support, and consistent follow‑up to ensure successful project execution and maximize sales growth.
• Take initiative in scheduling customer meetings, coordinating product presentations and promotional events, and maintaining regular communication with your customer base.
• Attend product training sessions and actively participate in local industry associations, conferences, and trade shows.
• Travel to manufacturers and represented company locations for training and professional development as needed.
• Travel within the assigned sales territory in Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware, and Southern New Jersey

What you bring:

• Minimum of 2 years experience selling process equipment and pumps, with proven track record of success in sales, business development, or account management.
• Experience in the municipal water and wastewater industry is required
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical solutions to engineers, municipalities, contractors, and plant personnel.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain long‑term customer relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and exceptional follow‑through.
• Strong consultative selling, problem‑solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Self‑motivated and results‑oriented, with excellent organizational, time management, and territory management abilities.
• Comfortable leading in‑person customer meetings, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple projects, priorities, and customer accounts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software is preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory as needed.
