Job summary

Associated Truss & Lumber Co is a growing floors and roofs truss, lumber company in the manufacturing industry. A family owned local company with 110 local employees, we seek an Outside Sales Associate to prospect and generate new commercial business as well as perform cold calls in the field.

The candidate will support existing clients, conduct product demonstrations, and work with an Inside Sales Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Experience in selling lumber and trusses is preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.

We are seeking an Outside Sales Associate with background in selling lumber and trusses. The ideal candidate will prospect and generate new commercial business as well as perform cold calls in the field to generate new permanent sales. This candidate can support existing clients and have an ability to conduct product demonstrations. Each Sales Associate will have an assigned Inside Sales Coordinator to assist. Position includes vehicle allowance, gas allowance, mobile phone, competitive benefits package, and offers a tremendous opportunity for upward mobility.

This position reports to the Outside Sales Manager/ Vice-President.

Applicants should be highly motivated, attain an ability to use computer systems, strong work ethic, speaking abilities, and an interest in the construction industry. Responsibilities

• Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers.
• Prospect and contact potential customers both in residential and commercial field.
• Reach agreed upon sales targets by the deadline.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints.
• Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments.
• Perform building material take-offs.
• Travel regularly throughout the area to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talk with customers by phone.
• Coordinate with Inside Sales Coordinator for estimating, quotes, and to keep account activities up to date.
• Collaborate with Design Team to ensure design accuracy and delivery deadline is met.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Background in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field
• Extensive experience in lumber, floor and roof trusses in commercial and multifamily businesses.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
• Highly motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Salary and Benefits

Hours are flexible, 7:00am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm, five days per week. Two mandatory inventories per year. Paid vacation after first year. Medical, dental, and eye care plans are available. 401(k) plan available. Base salary with commission opportunities. Raises based upon job performance. We promote from within.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED (Required).
• Degree in a 4-year accredited university (Preferred).
• Previous sales experience in lumber and/or trusses.
