Job summary

STRATA Networks is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to design, plan, and manage OSP infrastructure projects supporting our broadband network across rural Utah. You will work on fiber-to-the-home deployments and other connectivity initiatives, coordinating with Engineering, Logistics, construction, and agencies to ensure accurate records and on-time delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, travel to project sites, and proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS/mapping.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels.
• Experience in road design, utility coordination, and surveying.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage outside plant (OSP) projects, including fiber-optic and copper network infrastructure.
• Prepare staking sheets, construction drawings, project documentation, and material tabulations.
• Coordinate project execution with Engineering, Logistics, Construction, Facilities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Assist with maintaining accurate network records, mapping systems, and infrastructure documentation.
• Support the upkeep of plant records and updates in maps and engineering databases.
• Provide mapping, reporting, and technical information to management as needed.
• Participate in strategic planning and long-term network development projects.
• Coordinate with agencies on permits, road construction, and utility planning.
• Assist with regulatory mapping requirements, GIS initiatives, and network planning activities.
• Conduct field visits to evaluate sites and verify engineering designs.
