JSI invites you to join our team as an OSP Designer II (Field Engineer) in Nephi, UT, to advance broadband and telecom initiatives. You will perform field engineering and staking for final outside plant construction plans, collaborating with the engineering design team.

This full-time role requires GIS proficiency, field experience, and strong coordination with clients, DOT, and project managers. Occasional travel up to 100% may be needed; compensation is competitive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with OSP telecom engineering processes is desirable.
• Proficient GIS knowledge (ArcGIS/QGIS/Google Earth).
• Reading maps, drawings and telecom OSP construction diagrams essential.
• Proficient with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Site surveys and staking of new FTTx infrastructure using GIS.
• Geo-accurate design of fiber lines and facility locations, splicing schematics, and final construction units in GIS.
• Coordinate with client to define specs and preferred construction methods for FTTx buildout.
• Coordinate with DOT during permit applications to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with construction PMs to schedule final design deliverables and materials orders.
• Coordinate with existing utilities on aerial Make-Ready.
