Job summary

STRATA Networks in Roosevelt, Utah, is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to design, plan, and manage OSP projects supporting our broadband network, including fiber-to-the-home deployments and business connectivity.

You will work with AutoCAD, GIS, and mapping tools, coordinate with multiple teams, and ensure accurate documentation and compliance across jurisdictions.

This role involves field visits and collaboration with local authorities to keep projects on schedule and within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Google Earth.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and processes.
• Ability to coordinate with customers, suppliers, and agencies.
• Experience with drafting, mapping, and GIS platforms.
• Telecommunications or broadband/utility infrastructure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage Outside Plant (OSP) projects including fiber/copper networks.
• Prepare staking sheets, drawings, project documentation, and material tabulations.
• Coordinate project execution with Engineering, Logistics, Construction, Facilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate network records, mapping systems, and infrastructure documentation.
• Support upkeep of plant records and GIS databases updates.
• Provide mapping, reporting, and technical information to management.
• Participate in strategic planning and long-term network development.
• Coordinate with agencies for permits and utility coordination.
• Assist with regulatory mapping and internal GIS initiatives.
• Conduct field visits to verify engineering designs and sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
