Bollinger Shipyards in Pascagoula, MS seeks an Outside Machinist to install vessel machinery and align propulsion and auxiliary systems in a shipyard setting. Work is guided by blueprints, with careful layout of connections across decks and bulkheads.
Candidates should read gauges, calipers and micrometers and be capable of operating shop tools to fabricate or fit parts. Shipbuilding experience is preferred for dock and sea trials and equipment inspection.
The outside machinist is responsible for installing the vessel’s machinery, such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, and steering gears.

Knowledge of gauges, calipers micrometers, lathes, boring mills, planers, shapers, slotters and milling machines. Capable of reading blueprints
Prior experience as an outside machinist or boilermaker in a heavy industrial or shipbuilding environment. Vocational training in the field of machinist is helpful.
