Job summary

West Hill Staffing Group LLC is seeking an Outside Machinist 1st Class to install, align, and repair ship machinery including propelling machinery, pumps, and steering gear. Work from blueprints and use hand tools, calipers, and micrometers.

You will lay out passage holes on bulkheads and decks for connections such as shafting and steam lines, and align reduction gears, bearings, shafting, propellers, and rudder assemblies.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 4+ years of experience as an outside machinist.
• Prior shipyard experience preferred (4+ years).

Outside Machinist 1st Class

The Role

Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers and micrometers. lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection such as shafting and steam lines. Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies.

Must Have

Requires a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.

Nice to Have

Prior Shipyard experience a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.

Pay

$42 per hour & $147.04/day per diem
