Job summary

Contra Costa Community College District’s Diablo Valley College Library seeks a visionary Outreach and Student Engagement Librarian. This tenure-track, on-campus role will drive outreach across Pleasant Hill and San Ramon campuses, lead student engagement initiatives, and partner with departments to integrate library services into college-wide activities.

The ideal candidate will advance equity-centered practices, information literacy, reference, and liaison duties while engaging in governance

Qualifications

• Master’s in Library and Information Science or Library Science (or equivalent) required.
• Experience in outreach and student engagement in community college setting preferred.
• Strong commitment to equity, anti-racist practices, and serving disproportionately impacted students.
• Ability to build partnerships across departments and with campus units.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and information literacy instruction to students, faculty, and community.
• Lead outreach initiatives and student engagement programs across two campuses (Pleasant Hill and San Ramon).
• Serve as liaison to connect departments to the library and its services.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment of student learning, and library governance.
