Job summary

Fremont Public Library District is seeking an Outreach Specialist to extend library services beyond traditional spaces. You will partner with schools, nonprofits, local businesses, and volunteers, and drive community engagement through social media channels.

The role requires coordinating events, managing meeting room usage, and representing the library at community gatherings. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is expected, with evenings and weekends required and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in a similar position (Librarian master’s preferred).
• Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and social media platforms.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver programs at community locations, focusing on underserved populations.
• Manage library social media content and coordinate with staff for photos/videos.
• Build relationships with businesses and organizations; serve on local boards/committees.
• Coordinate meeting room access for community use.
• Represent the library at events and larger outreach efforts.
• Supervise volunteers and assist with fundraising and data collection to guide administration.
