Job summary

Qualifications

• MLS degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of professional/supervisory public library experience.
• Experience as a Community/Branch Library Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advance strategic goals aligned with the Library’s vision, mission, values, and brand.
• Build collaborative relationships with staff, community partners, and county stakeholders to strengthen services.
• Stay current on trends and emerging technologies and apply best practices to meet community needs.
• De‑escalate conflicts with sound judgment while guiding staff in a safe, welcoming environment.
• Foster psychological safety and accountability where employees contribute ideas and learn from mistakes.
• Oversee effective collection management through selection, weeding, and budget planning.
• Foster employee learning and development through coaching and leadership opportunities.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally while balancing service with policies and operations.
