Job summary

Breaking Ground seeks an Assistant Director, Programs, Outreach to oversee 24/7 outreach and housing placement in Queens. You will supervise Team Leaders, collaborate with care teams and city partners, and support Housing First and Harm Reduction strategies to move street homeless individuals into housing and services.

The role requires an LMSW, 2+ years supervising teams, and strong crisis intervention experience. Regular hours are Monday–Friday with emergency on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• NY LMSW license required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Clinical understanding of Housing First, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction.
• Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessments.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Team Leaders.
• Provide regular, structured supervision meetings for direct reports.
• Implement outreach and engagement strategies to identify areas where individuals stay on the street and provide services.
• Ensure high quality service delivery by supporting best practice interventions and crisis management.
• Promote Housing First, Harm Reduction, CPI and trauma-informed care models of practice.
• Coordinate delivery of care with transitional housing teams.
• Guide frontline staff in de-escalation and conflict management.
• Oversee incident management and timely documentation with oversight entities.
• Engage external partners including agencies and stakeholders for planning and operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
