JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Join the Labor School and be part of Penn State’s outreach program to the Pennsylvania labor movement! We are seeking a part-time Outreach Program Coordinator to help us reach workers and their organizations and to help manage our programming. Based within the School of Labor and Employment Relations, the Labor School offers accessible labor education, leadership development, and connections to the Penn State community as part of the University’s land-grant mission.
Assist Labor School faculty in identifying opportunities to expand Labor School audience and impact
Facilitate organizational relationships with key partner organizations and stakeholders across Pennsylvania
Coordinate planning of major Labor School events, including program timelines and workflow of faculty and support staff
Represent the Labor School at local and regional events with stakeholder audiences to promote programs
Coordinate and implement marketing strategies for outreach education programs and services
Lead communications across newsletters, website, email, socials; respond to inquiries
Qualifications :
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and aptitude for collaboration
Effective written and verbal communication skills for external and internal audiences
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and Excel in particular, as well as Zoom
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining organized workflows
Adaptability and ability to troubleshoot issues within a rapidly changing environment
Experience working with the Pennsylvania labor movement and familiarity with U.S. labor relations
The Outreach Program Coordinator will work both independently, as well as collaborate/have support of their team when completing the positions responsibilities. The position will require occasional travel within Pennsylvania, as well as occasional evening and/or weekend work. The position may be hybrid or remote.
Please note that this is not a fully remote position.
