Job summary

Maximus is hiring a Bilingual Community Outreach Specialist (English/Spanish) in Canyon Country, CA. You will connect individuals to Medi-Cal resources, guide enrollment, and help them make informed decisions about their coverage.

This onsite role requires strong community knowledge and customer service experience. Fluency in English and Spanish, a valid CA driver license, and willingness to travel within LA County are required.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required, fluency in both languages.
• Six months of customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal or public health programs helpful.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process intake referrals via calls, voicemail, email, or other channels.
• Respond to inquiries with general program information and refer clients to resources.
• Perform initial eligibility screening using defined criteria.
• Review and verify applications and documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Enter and maintain data in databases and systems.
• Research and verify information using government agency systems as applicable.
• Contact clients to obtain missing information for applications.
• Coordinate with staff and field resources to collect required information.
• Assist clients in accessing services aligned with program objectives (education, healthcare, childcare, transportation, etc.).
• Determine urgency and route matters appropriately; escalate when needed.
• Support outreach activities through defined enrollment phases.
