About Us: Building One Community (B1C) is a Stamford, Connecticut-based nonprofit supporting the successful integration of immigrants and their families. At B1C, immigrants acquire the tools they need to thrive. We provide free services that educate, employ, empower and engage immigrants and the broader community. Our programs include English Language classes, Family and Individual Support Services, Academic Enrichment Programs, Immigration Legal Services, and Workforce Development programs.
Position: The Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in expanding awareness of Building One Community (B1C) and connecting immigrant individuals and families throughout Fairfield County with B1C's programs, services, and resources. Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, this part-time, 20-hour-per-week position is highly community-facing, implementing targeted outreach and engagement strategies to reach new participants, increase engagement, and strengthen B1C's presence in the communities we serve.
A significant portion of the role is spent in the field connecting directly with community members through outreach activities, events, tabling, and other community-based activities. The Coordinator works closely with B1C program teams to promote programs and services, reach specific communities and audiences, and gather participant feedback and community insights, ensuring outreach activities align with broader community partnership efforts.
The position has a flexible and field-based schedule, with hours that may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends based on community outreach activities and organizational events. Time may be spent in the field or at the B1C office for outreach planning, follow-up, data tracking, surveys, reporting, and administrative responsibilities.
