Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer for the WFBMC Main - Athletic Trainers department in North Carolina. The role requires a CAATE-accredited degree, BOC certification, and current or eligible state licensure within 30 days of hire. BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a sign-on bonus of $17,000 for eligible candidates. Primary duties include providing athletic training services, field coverage, and clinical care for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a CAATE-accredited program.
• Current athletic training certification by the BOC.
• Currently licensed or eligible for a state license within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to complete American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services to high schools and community sporting events as needed.
• Work within the Sports Medicine Team to support event coverage.
• Provide acute medical care to athletes on the field during practices or events.
• Deliver clinical athletic training services in local clinics as needed.
• Perform on-site recognition, evaluation and care in emergencies.
• Conduct clinical injury evaluation and determine functional status.
• Determine rehabilitation and bracing/taping strategies.
• Set treatment program objectives and measure progress.
• Coordinate with physicians and initiate referrals when needed.
• Establish return-to-play standards and document patient status.
• Maintain treatment logs and inventory per clinic standards.
• Prepare practice and game setups with supplies and equipment.
• Assist in planning and ensuring departmental compliance with policies.
• Develop an Emergency Action Plan for venues in collaboration with athletic directors and coaches.

Education

Bachelor's degree in athletic training (CAATE)

BOC certification
