Hearts for the Homeless is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and organized Outreach Assistant to support our Outreach Ministry and help provide services to individuals and families in our community.
This position will assist with the day-to-day operations of our Outreach programs, including the Clothing Closet, volunteer coordination, client services, donations, organization of supplies, and other Outreach activities.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, is comfortable serving individuals from diverse backgrounds, and can balance customer service with hands‑on operational responsibilities.
This is a part‑time, day-shift position of approximately 25–30 hours per week. Saturday availability is required.
The Outreach Assistant will serve as the primary staff member supporting the Clothing Closet, which is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On other scheduled weekdays, the Outreach Assistant will assist with additional Outreach activities, client services, volunteer support, donations, special events, and other program needs.
This is an active, hands‑on position. The Outreach Assistant may be required to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull as part of daily operations. The position may involve lifting items weighing up to approximately 35 pounds at waist height and working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
