Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, invites applications for a position as Outreach and Assessment Librarian starting in Summer 2025.
TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. The university advances knowledge through research, teaching, community engagement, and public service, with a focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year renewable position at the Assistant Librarian level. Responsibilities include leading library outreach efforts, designing programming to promote learning, scholarship, community engagement, and resource utilization; building partnerships within and outside the university; developing assessment strategies; publicizing library services; managing social media; coordinating outreach events; and serving as the liaison for assessment activities. The role requires regular on-campus presence.
The position seeks a candidate who can develop collaborative partnerships, demonstrate potential for advancement, and preferably has experience serving first-generation students, working in academic libraries, supervising staff, managing marketing campaigns, and using assessment methods.
Starting salary is $52,000. Benefits include health insurance, retirement, life insurance, summer teaching pay, professional development support, and moving expenses.
