Job summary

Firefly Children & Family Alliance in Indiana is seeking a full-time and part-time Outpatient Therapist to provide family-focused therapeutic interventions for children and families. You will work with clients aged 3 to 18, with some evenings required, and support community-based healing efforts in the Indianapolis area.

The role combines direct therapy (50%) and therapy support (50%), including referrals, documentation, and biopsychosocial assessments to determine the best interventions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• 3+ years’ experience in child development, attachment issues, trauma-informed care.
• Knowledge of working with children with abuse, neglect issues and family dynamics.
• LSW or LCSW preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organization & time management.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling support to individuals, families, and groups to achieve treatment goals related to trauma healing.
• Guide clients through counseling methods to meet client-set goals and maintain standards.
• Maintain therapeutic standards outlined by professional degrees and licenses.
• Use referral sources such as Department of Child Services and other institutions.
• Complete monthly reports and documentation of all contacts with family.
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to determine level of need and best intervention.

Firefly Children & Family Alliance is currently seeking a full-time & part-time Outpatient Therapist specializing in providing family focused therapeutic interventions to support improved family functioning as a whole and within their community. Some evenings are required, and must be willing to see clients ages 3 to 18.

You Will:

Therapy (50%)

• Provide counseling support to a caseload of individuals, families, and groups working to achieve treatment goals related to healing from trauma or processing emotions
• Guide clients through clear, beneficial counseling methods to accomplish client-set goals
• Maintain the therapeutic standards outlined by professional degrees and licenses

Therapy Support (50%)

• Use referral sources such as Department of Child Services and other multiple institutions related to clients
• Complete monthly reports and documentation of all contacts with family and related familial contacts
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to determine client's level of need and best therapeutic intervention

You Have:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy
• 3+ years’ experience in child development, attachment issues, attachment specific treatment and trauma informed care
• Knowledge of working with children with abuse, neglect issues, and family dynamics and basic skills in family counseling
• Must have LSW, LCSW preferred
• Experience working with sexually maladaptive youth preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organization & time management skills
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid driver's license with no more than 6 points and a valid insurance
