AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Coding Specialist to assign CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for outpatient surgical, interventional, and observation encounters. You will review clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding and apply NCCI edits and OPPS/APC rules to maximize compliant reimbursement.

The role requires 2+ years of observation and surgery coding, a CCS/RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CIRCC certification, and high attention to detail within a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced CPT/HCPCS coding knowledge and modifier usage.
• Strong understanding of OPPS/APC reimbursement and outpatient coding guidelines.
• Expertise in complex procedural coding and documentation interpretation.
• Knowledge of NCCI edits and bundling rules.
• Ability to code moderate to high-complexity encounters.
• Understanding of observation coding and documentation requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assigns CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for outpatient surgical, interventional, and observation encounters.
• Reviews clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of procedures and services.
• Applies knowledge of bundling rules and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ensures appropriate coding of multi-component procedures and observation services.
• Maintain productivity and turnaround time to support DNFB reduction.
