Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to assign CPT/HCPCS codes for outpatient surgeries, interventional and observation encounters. You will review clinical notes to ensure accurate coding while applying NCCI edits and bundling rules to support compliant submissions.

The role requires strong knowledge of OPPS/APC guidelines, complex procedural coding, and documentation interpretation, with attention to detail and timely delivery in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Advanced CPT/HCPCS knowledge and modifier usage.
• Strong understanding of OPPS/APC rules.
• Expertise in complex procedural coding and documentation.
• Knowledge of NCCI edits and bundling rules.
• Ability to code moderate to high complexity encounters.
• Observation coding requirements knowledge.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to meet productivity timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for outpatient surgical, interventional, and observation encounters.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness of codes.
• Apply NCCI edits and bundling rules (OPPS/APC).
• Ensure proper coding of multi-component procedures and observation services.
• Maintain productivity and turnaround time to support DNFB goals.
• Follow coding guidelines and regulatory standards.
