Job summary

AdventHealth Corporate, located in ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL, is seeking a healthcare coder for ER/outpatient coding to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes accurately and efficiently.

The role requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC certification or equivalent, 3+ years in ER/outpatient coding, and strong knowledge of coding guidelines, Epic, Cerner, and 3M Encoder. A commitment to high-quality documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with medical coding program or HIM training.
• Minimum 3 years of ER/outpatient coding experience and ability to pass an outpatient coding assessment.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC or CCS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes per UHDDS rules and coding guidelines.
• Maintain 96%+ accuracy and meet productivity benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Coding team to finalize charges within two days of discharge.
• Communicate coding issues impacting claims processing to Management.
