Job summary

MercyOne Newton Medical Center in Newton, Iowa, is seeking an outpatient staff nurse responsible for direct care of pre- and post-operative patients using the nursing process, aligned with hospital standards. The successful candidate will have a current Iowa RN license, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and at least two years of perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of two years of pre- and post-operative surgical care experience.
• Must possess a current Iowa RN license.
• Excellent written and spoken English; able to follow instructions.
• ACLS and PALS certifications recommended; BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care for pre- and post-operative patients using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines and collaborate with patient, family, significant other, and physician.
• Support hospital standards of Nursing Care policies and procedures.
