Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking an Outpatient Services RN to deliver preoperative and postoperative care across surgical, endoscopy, infusion, and cath lab settings. You will assess and implement care plans, administer treatments, and communicate patient status to the care team.

The role requires critical thinking, ability to work under pressure, and a Tennessee RN license (or compact state with Tennessee paperwork).

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• One year of previous RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides preoperative and postoperative nursing care for surgical, endoscopy, infusion, and cath lab patients.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to providers and care team members.
• Provides patient and family education, discharge instructions, and emotional support.
• Functions as a circulating nurse in Endoscopy.
• Functions competently in PACU/Recovery and provides recovery care as needed.
• Collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Supports quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives.
