Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Outpatient Services. This full‑time role features a 4x10 schedule (6:30am–5:00pm), with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for well-qualified applicants and required weekend call every fifth weekend.

You’ll care for surgical, endoscopy, infusion, and cath lab patients, provide education, document care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee license (single-state or compact) required
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program required
• Relocation to TN: licensure updated to TN PSOR before employment
• BLS within 30 days of hire
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• PALS within 6 months of hire
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision
• Able to work in a high‑stress environment
• One year of prior RN experience preferred
• TN RN license or Compact State RN with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire
• Education: Associate's degree required; BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides preoperative and postoperative nursing care for surgical, endoscopy, infusion, and cath lab patients.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to providers and care team members.
• Provides patient and family education, discharge instructions, and emotional support.
• Functions as a circulating nurse in Endoscopy.
• Functions in PACU/Recovery and provides recovery care as needed.
• Collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Supports quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Supports departmental quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
