Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted programs, and to conduct group and individual sessions for crisis management and coping strategies in an outpatient setting.

The role includes assessing patients, involving families, planning treatment, addressing grievances, and creating aftercare and discharge plans. Certification/licensure and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Certification or license required as listed (ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC or LCADC) in Maryland.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and eligibility determinations.
• Involve families/significant others in recovery when possible.
• Develop and review initial treatment plans with patients.
• Respond to grievances and complaints as needed.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
