Job summary

Community Medical Services is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to assist patients recovering from opioid and other substance use disorders in outpatient settings. The role includes individual and group sessions, treatment planning, and coordination with community providers.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED with 360 hours of specialized education in substance use disorder.
• Licensure options include SAC-IT, SAC, CSAC or LPC-IT, LPC, LMFT, APSW, LCSW depending on role.
• Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage a caseload in compliance with regulations.
• Conduct individual sessions and facilitate group counseling.
• Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments and individualized treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with other recovery and community-based providers and document referrals and charting.
• Involve family and natural supports as appropriate and stay current with field developments.
