Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Mary, Florida, seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist for the Sports Medicine and Rehab site. You will assess, diagnose, and treat athletes, design care plans, and monitor progress while collaborating with physicians to build referrals.

Role requires PT license (or eligibility), BLS, and a doctorate in physical therapy preferred. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 10am-7pm at the Lake Mary location with sign-on and relocation bonuses available.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Physical Therapist license (or eligible) required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Experience treating athletes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and plan care for patients and establish a plan of care.
• Design and implement treatment plans utilizing standards and guidelines.
• Assess functional mobility and evaluate systems.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment as needed.
• Supervise PT assistants and rehab aides.
• Support marketing and outreach to build referral relationships.
• Maintain productivity and adapt hours as needed.

Job Description:

• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible Applicants

• Location: Sports Medicine and Rehab 960 Rinehart, Lake Mary, Florida




• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 7pm




• The anticipated minimum pay rate for this position is $36/hour.



• Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.


• Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.


• Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.


• Monitors patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate.


• Participates in marketing to physicians and physician practices to build referral relationships.


• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.


• Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships.


• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.


• Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers and programs as approved and observed by the manager or director.


• Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.


• Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.


• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.


• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.


• Performs other duties as assigned.
