Job summary

Liberty Regional Medical Center is seeking a Scheduler, Outpatient to arrange outpatient procedures, secure pre-certifications, and verify patient insurance while ensuring compliance with regulations and hospital policies. The role supports utilization management and efficient resource use.

The successful candidate will have preferred medical assistant program training, basic clinical competence, and knowledge of payer requirements to streamline scheduling and certification processes.

Qualifications

• Education level equivalent to completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
• Clinical competence in medical assistance preferred.
• Medical Assistance Certification preferred.
• Experience in pre-certification with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield and other third party payers, CPT and ICD-9 coding helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient procedures.
• Obtain required pre-certification information.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification for outpatient procedures.
• Assist with activities to promote optimal care and efficient resource utilization.
