Qualifications

• College business and/or accounting courses preferred.
• Minimum of one year of patient scheduling and healthcare registration required.
• Knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and strong customer service.
• Ability to prioritize, work efficiently, and handle cash and daily batches.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and completes scheduling, registration and insurance verification.
• Identifies patient and maintains accurate patient information in the EMR.
• Collects financial information including payment for patient/guarantor.
• Obtains insurance information, benefits and authorizations for services provided.
• Calculates co-pay, deductible and co-insurance for patients.
• Obtains medical and financial consents, secures signatures on required documents.
• Provides information to patient about Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.
• Schedules all outpatient procedures accurately based on policy and protocol.
