Officers a pathway into leadership and quality improvement while providing and coordinating clinically competent care for an assigned group of dialysis patients under supervision.

The role involves assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation, collaboration with RN/LVN/LPN staff and technicians, and medication administration as prescribed.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN in CAP program; requires RN licensure and BLS/CPR.
• Assists with planning and evaluation of patient care.
• Collaborates with RN staff and patient care technicians to deliver dialysis care.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis; documents in medical record.
• Educates patients/families on care needs and treatment options.
• Directs daily delivery of safe hemodialysis therapy with staff collaboration.
• Administers medications as prescribed and records justification and effectiveness.
• Responds to emergencies as needed and participates in training.
