Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Patient Registration Clerk to register patients, collect information, and initiate financial counseling. You will verify insurance, determine patient estimates at the point of service, and be the first point of contact for all communications.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (or two years of college), at least 6 months of customer service, basic computer skills, and a typing speed of 35 words per minute. Medical office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients presenting to Freeman Health System and collect registration information.
• Verify insurance at point of service and calculate patient estimates.
• Initiate financial counseling and collect monies owed.
• Obtain signatures on required forms and handle inquiries from customers.
• Assist patients with inquiries and refer uninsured/underinsured to financial assistance.
