Freeman Health System is seeking a full-time Patient Registration Specialist to greet and register patients, obtain necessary information, verify insurance, and initiate financial counseling at the point of service.
Responsibilities include collecting copays, applying payments, data entry, and addressing patient inquiries with accuracy and courtesy. The role emphasizes production standards and assisting uninsured patients with available financial assistance.

Full-time, Days. Monday through Friday, 0530 to 1330.
Registration of patients presenting to Freeman Health System. Conducts patient interviews to obtain registration information, complete required forms and obtains signatures. Initiates financial counseling process. Collects monies owed. Verifies insurance at point of service and calculates patient estimates. Represents Freeman Health System as the focal point for all initial communications
1. Accurately obtains all required information to perform registration of patients for all services.
2. Appropriately obtains authorizations and verifications for services and enters into system
3. Obtains accurate insurance information for billing purposes.
4. Successfully obtains copayments for services rendered or to be rendered.
5. Correctly collects and receipts payments. Completes all required data for financial services.
6. Effectively communicates with customers. Assists customers with inquiries.
7. Assertively demonstrates ability to meet production standard of collection goals for NWMC.
8. Consistently refers uninsured and underinsured patients to financial assistance.
9. Efficiently utilizes resources and supplies.
10. Proficiently utilizes computer system to access patient information, email, and other required systems.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED or Completion of two years of college level classes. Minimum of 6 months customer service required. Knowledge of computers, and other standard office equipment required. Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute required. Preferred: Medical office experience preferred.
