Purpose and Scope

Functions as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team as a Staff RN to ensure quality patient care, supporting FMCNA’s mission, values, and customer service philosophy. Supports the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and CQI activities, actively participating in process improvements to meet quality goals. Adheres to FMCNA compliance and policies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs Patient Care Technicians in delivering safe hemodialysis therapy, complying with policies and regulations.
• Delegates tasks to staff including LVNs/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Dialysis Assistants.
• Assesses patient care needs and develops appropriate care assignments.
• Monitors staff techniques and adherence to policies.
• Participates in staff training and orientation.
• Provides patient education on ESRD, dialysis, and related health conditions.
• Educates patients on diet, fluid, medication compliance, and dialysis adequacy measures.
• Assesses patient responses, adjusts treatment plans, and communicates with physicians.
• Documents patient care and treatment accurately.
• Ensures safety and cleanliness of the treatment environment.
• Administers medications and manages emergency procedures.
• Participates in CQI activities and maintains comprehensive patient records.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Involves heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and assisting with patient mobility. Work environment is a healthcare facility with exposure to infectious materials. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.

Pay Range: $43.00 - $62.00, depending on experience
