Food Management Search is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for outpatient services in Ithaca, NY. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans and guide patients through exercises, gait training, and daily activities.

Requires an Associate's degree in PTA, NY State PTA license or eligibility, and CPR certification. Outpatient experience preferred; new graduates considered. Onsite with flexible daytime hours and local travel as needed.

Competenze

• Associate's degree in PTA (required).
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility (required).
• CPR Certification (required).
• yearly mandatory safety in-services and HealthStream e-Learning.
• Prior outpatient or clinical experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Mansioni

• Provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of the licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implements individualized treatment plans addressing patient goals and functional needs.
• Instructs and assists patients with therapeutic exercises, gait, balance, and activities of daily living.
• Assists patients with use of assistive devices (crutches, walkers, canes, orthotics).
• Administers therapy modalities such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation as directed.
• Performs activities and manual therapy within PTA scope of practice under supervision.
• Monitors patient responses and documents progress; reports changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Communicates patient progress and helps modify treatment plan as needed.
• Participates in discharge planning and reinforces home exercise programs.
• Educates patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, mobility, and home program.
• Documents care and charges in the EMR; maintains compliance with NYS requirements and facility policies.
