Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Outpatient Rehab team. The PTA will help coordinate efforts to achieve discharge goals by enhancing mobility and activities of daily living, ensuring patients reach their highest level of function.

Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA delivers therapeutic interventions, educates patients and caregivers, and promotes self-management of care to improve quality

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy required.
• PTA certification required.
• BLS certification at time of hire.
• Knowledge of physical therapy procedures and data interpretation.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems.
• Familiarity with applicable clinical rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, deliver therapeutic interventions to support patient recovery.
• Focus on improving safety at home, reducing hospitalizations, and educating patients and caregivers.
• Coordinate discharge goals and communicate patient progress to the PT and care team.
• Educate patients on home programs, equipment, and resources.
• Document care delivery accurately and in a timely manner.
