Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Outpatient Psychiatry Main clinic in Columbus, OH. This 0.6 FTE position provides 24 hours per week across three eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm.

Starting pay is $21.06/hr, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with clinical tasks, documenting in the medical record, scheduling, reminders, and supporting the RN/LPN with delegated medications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association Heart saver with pediatric content) or Health Care Provider/Red Cross equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communications and professional behavior in patient-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and follow-up calls.
• Room patients, measure vital signs, heights and weights, and collect screening data.
• Assist with clinical tasks and administer medications under RN/LPN delegation.
• Document findings in the medical record and support orientation for new staff.
