Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a busy medical office required.
• Behavioral health or psychiatry office setting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and medical billing software required.
• Strong understanding of insurance company policies, billing regulations, and coding standards.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, behavioral health diagnoses, and basic mathematics.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations within the Outpatient Psychiatry department.
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages to clinical staff.
• Schedule patient appointments including new intakes, follow-ups, and therapy sessions while managing cancellations and rescheduling as needed.
• Greet and check in patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure all required forms and documentation are completed.
