Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join MHPT at Irving Street Neuro. You will work under a licensed PT to deliver treatments, document progress, and support patient access to care in a busy, team-driven environment.

The role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, state licensure as needed, and BLS CPR certification. This position offers a community-focused setting within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Virginia, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Maryland licensure may be required per location.
• American Heart Association’s BLS CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Documents patient care activities and progress under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Maintains an accurate, productive schedule including re-evaluations and discharge summaries.
• Performs discharge planning and determines equipment needs with the supervising PT.
• Provides treatment services including modalities within the treatment plan's limits.
• Collaborates with the care team for an interdisciplinary approach.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the supervising physical therapist.
