Job summary

Spearfish Canyon Healthcare is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Outpatient team in Spearfish, SD. The role includes educating on dementia training, wound care, vestibular rehab, and other modalities, with opportunities for daily pay and free CEUs.

Responsibilities include evaluating residents, improving mobility, supervising PT assistants, and maintaining confidentiality while ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Must hold current and active PT license or registration in state employed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate a Resident’s condition and develop an appropriate physical rehabilitation plan.
• Help Residents to improve their mobility.
• Help Residents through their tasks and monitor their performance.
• Inform Residents what they should anticipate in different stages of their recovery and how they will handle each situation.
• Maintain Resident confidence and protect facility operations by keeping information confidential.
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants when required.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by protecting Residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Contribute to inter-disciplinary team efforts in resident care.

Physical Therapist Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Must hold current and active PT license or registration in state employed.
• Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus!
• Completion of orientation required by company policy.
• Health screening and TB test within two weeks of employment.
• Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job.
• Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.
