Overview

A Physical Therapist develops individualized programs for patients with acute and chronic health conditions to enhance their quality of life and achieve their functional goals. The role may involve working in inpatient and/or outpatient settings. The Therapist reports to Rehab Services management and collaborates positively with other health professionals and staff.

Responsibilities

1. Performs evaluations, diagnoses, and plans care; conducts physical therapy procedures to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent disabilities.
2. Assesses patients promptly according to practice guidelines, evidence-based standards, and regulatory requirements.
3. Builds trusting relationships within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care and actively participates in team meetings.
4. Supports training of team members, volunteers, and students.
5. Implements and adjusts treatment plans to maximize benefits and meet discharge criteria, recording patient progress and modifying care plans accordingly.
6. Uses testing results to develop updated care plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
7. Educates patients and families about the recovery process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy (Required)
• 1 year of Physical Therapy experience (Preferred)
• License in Physical Therapy from Virginia Department of Health Professions (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification from AHA/ARC or equivalent within 30 days (Required)
