Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I for Outpatient Phlebotomy. Responsibilities include phlebotomy draws, data entry, and supply distribution.

The role operates Monday–Friday, first shift, with no weekends or holidays, in a fully on-campus setting. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma; phlebotomy training or experience is preferred along with basic computer skills and prior public-facing work experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Previous public contact/customer service experience
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
• Basic computer skills are desirable.
• Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy draws.
• Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
• Orders, receives, and distributes supplies.
• Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and represents the work areas.
• Administer select medications as designated per protocol.
