Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Previous lab or clinical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and medical terminology.
• Proficient phlebotomy including pediatric venipuncture and fingerstick.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws in outpatient draw station.
• Process lab specimens promptly.
• Order and transmit lab orders in computer system.
• Respond to priority collection needs and organize work for turnaround times.
• Label specimens and identify patients per policy.
• Stock workstation and dispose of biohazard materials properly.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees.
• All other duties as assigned.
